Blackeyed Pea Soup January 2010
2 pkgs fresh blackeyed peas 1 sm onion chopped 2 cans chicken broth 1 ham hock Salt to taste Pepper to taste 1 clove garlic
Put all ingredients in crock pot and turn on high. Cook for about 3-5 hours, depending on tenderness desired. When done you can mash the peas a little with a potato masher to thicken soup if you like. Goes great with corn bread. This soup is known to be good luck for the new year.
